Don Juan Rose is a long-blooming climbing deciduous shrub with large fragrant red double flowers from late spring until the first frost.  The leathery dark green foliage has no fall color and can also be used as a groundcover.  Best grown in full sun and rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.  One of the best rose climbers to use on walls or other structures.
