Baptisia, Decadence® Dark Chocolate False Indigo

Dark Chocolate False Indigo is a compact upright perennial native with bright green foliage.  Raceme with profuse blooms of near black flowers extends above the mound from late spring into summer.  The blooms give way to large seedpods that blacken when ripe, providing ornamental interest.  Flowers best in full sun with acidic well-drained soils.  Drought tolerant once established.
